Description: – A definite Art deco period vase made in the early 1930s by Edelstein Porcelain company. Friedrich Deusch bought in the blank porcelain for decoration. The ribbed vase has an interesting pattern in silver overlay reminiscent of a plant climbing a fence. The rim has a very sharp Art Deco feel. I have not seen this shape in Silver Overlay before.
Size & Weight: – The vase is 10cm tall, 13.5cm across the rim and 285g in weight
Condition: – The porcelain has no chips, cracks, hairlines, crazing, losses or restoration. The silver is in great order without any losses, Obviously after 90 years of care there are very minor surface scratches to the silver (which occurs to all silver items) following years of love & care.
Photography: - Please look at the images as they show a true status of this delightful vase. There are some light reflections seen following the photography and are not discolourations to the glaze.
History & Marks:– The Edelstein porcelain marks used from 1931. It is hard to find but the silver is stamped 1000 on one of the downward silver bands close to the base as seen in the image.
Declaration:– This is original Edelstein porcelain from the time period described. The silver overlay is that from the Schwåbisch Gmünd silver studios of Friedrich Deusch.
