Materials: –  Possibly Jean Beck Glass & Pure Silver Overlay from the Schwåbisch Gmünd silver studios of Friedrich Deusch

Country of Origin: – Germany 

Description: – A fine and intricately decorated pale amber glass vase (the glass probably by Jean Beck). The baluster shaped body is decorated in pure silver overlay with a complex Persian inspired floral design. 

Size & Weight: – The vase is 9.5cm tall & 6cm across the rim and weighs 165g.

Condition: – The vase is in Excellent with no damages or restoration to the glass. There are no losses to the silver overlay.

Photography: The glass vase and silver are in excellent condition the slight colour discolouration and light spots seen on the body of the vase are  made in the photography and does not represent any changes to the body colour in reality. 

History & Marks: The silver is marked with an early 1000/1000 Deusch mark to the lower rim. This mark was used in the 1920s & early 1930s.

Friedrich Deusch established a silver overlay workshop  in 1895 (Schwäbisch Gmünd ) Germany. Deusch exhibited silver overlay works at the  1907 World Exposition (EXPO) and was awarded a Silver Medal. He gained Gold at the 1913 World Exposition in Gent / Belgium for his sumptuous Silver Overlay Porcelain and glass.
