John Newton Antiques are committed to a very strict code of practice which assures clients the highest standard of professional conduct. Photographs are true untouched and fair representations of the actual items. Descriptions are detailed and accurate as is any relevant condition information. The size of the item may be seen by clicking on the thumbnail photograph.

All items listed on this website are individually priced and have a code printed next to them.

If you would like to buy an item which you have seen on one of our pages you need to Contact Us either by e-mail or telephone, to ensure that the item is still available, please quote the reference number printed next to the price. Payment can be made by one of the following methods:

British Sterling cheque
Bank money transfer. Details to be organised at the time.

If that rare occasion arises where you feel you must return an item, please contact John Newton Antiques for return instructions within three (3) days (by telephone or email) of receipt of your purchase. Upon our receipt and inspection of the returned goods, we will issue a refund if the goods are returned in the same condition as purchased (excluding any shipping/insurance costs). Buyer is responsible for return shipping/insurance costs, which will not be reimbursed for any reason. Returned merchandise must be received by us within seven (7) days of the date from which you contacted us regarding the return.

John Newton Antiques was established 40 years ago by its founder John Newton and his partner Michael G Lines. Following the death of John Newton in December 2017 the trading name and business continues to be used by the sole owner Michael G Lines and is registered in Kingston upon Hull. At John Newton Antiques, we take your privacy very seriously. We are not in the business of selling or trading email lists with other companies for marketing or money making purposes, and we take every precaution to protect all the information that you give us and do not give any information about you or your purchases to any other party.

Section 3 What we do with your information

When you browse our website, we automatically receive your computers internet protocol (IP) address in order to provide us with information that helps us learn about your browser and operating system, and in order for us to analyse our web traffic to make improvements to our website. It also allows us to keep our technology and our website up-to-date to enhance your experience of using our website. The data is hidden from us and we are never aware of whom it is viewing the website. When you purchase an item from us, as part of the buying and selling process, we collect the personal information that you give us, such as your name, address and email address.

Only "With your permission", we may send you emails about, new items that have been placed on the website and other updates of Fairs or Events John Newton Antiques are attending.

Unless stated by you, all contact details and addresses used to post items to you will be destroyed after 28 days of the purchase. A copy receipt is maintained safely for tax purposes if required.

Section 4 Your consent

When you provide us with personal information to complete a transaction, verify your credit card, place an order, arrange for a delivery or return a purchase, we imply that you consent to our collecting it and using it for that specific reason only and the information will be deleted after 28 days. If after you opt-in to allow us to keep your information to forward free admission tickets to Events John Newton Antiques are attending, you change your mind, you may withdraw your consent for us to contact you, at anytime, by contacting us at or clicking contact button at the bottom of the website and advise us that you no longer wish to receive emails or free tickets from us. Your details will then be taken and destroyed in the appropriate manner.

As with any business or organisation, in the unlikely event, we may disclose your personal information if we are required by law to do so. This however, would only be done under an information request order.

Section 6 Third-party services

We do not use any third-party services to gather or give information. However, certain third-party service providers, such as payment gateways such as: PayPal or other credit/debit card payment transaction processors, have their own privacy policies in respect to the information we are required to provide to them for your purchase-related transactions.
Once you leave John Newton Antiques website or are redirected to a third-party website or application to pay for an item, you are no longer governed by this Privacy Policy or our website’s Terms of Service.
