Meissen
A beautiful Meissen porcelain mounted boudoir clock retailed by J.W.Benson of Old Bond Street London 'Benson was at 25 Old Bond Street (1872-3)'.
The eight-day French movement was made by Victor-Athanase Pierret (1806-93). Two cherubs surmount the Meissen porcelain flower encrusted frame.
Circa: 1875 Condition: Very good with minor fleabites to flowers.The frame has new pins to mounting.

Japy Freres
An extremely decorative late 19th century French ormolu and porcelain clock garniture made in the Renaissance revival style. The eight-day Japys Freres movement has an ornate enamel dial and strikes the half and hour on a bell.

Jacob Petit
Louis Philippe period
A very smart French Louis-Philippe period mantle clock. The eight-day movement, with silk suspension, strikes a bell on the hour and half, the silvered Roman dial has an engine-turned centre and Breguet hands. The apple green-ground porcelain was made by Jacob Petit and is exquisitely painted with exotic birds and climbing French roses and is further enhanced with rich gilding. The clock is surmounted with a detachable vine leaf and grape finial.

Vincenti of Paris
A very decorative late 19th century French clock garniture. The pink marble portico-style clock has ormolu mounts and is surmounted with an urn finial. The eight-day movement by Vincenti strikes the hour and half on a bell. The candlesticks have ornate twin branches.

Bourdin of Paris
A very good French Napoleon III period mantel clock. The gilt bronze case was made by Henri Picard in Paris. The exquisitely painted and gilded cobalt blue-ground porcelain is marked Bourdin A Paris. The eight day movement was made by Japy Freres & Co it has an outside count-wheel which strikes a bell on the half and hour and has the Grand Medal of Honour symbol for 1855. The fondeur and doreur of Henri Picard was based in Paris from 1831 to 1864. The firm supplied services for the work on the apartments of the Emperor Napoleon III now in the Louvre.
